My Own Jones

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Jones Soda. All opinions are 100% mine.

It was cold when I woke up this morning. But it didn't stop me from going out to do some errands. Today is Black Friday, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. But I didn't go shopping today. I did my shopping last week because we went on a short trip. This morning we went to the park for walk. It was nice and cool.

After spending about over an hour at the park, we went to check some stores along Broadway Avenue. The parking lot was full because people are shopping crazy. They don't want to missed the great deals today. So we went to the grocery store to pick up some items we needed for this coming weekend. While browsing every isle of that store, I saw Jones Soda. I have been wanting to buy these sodas and finally, here it is. It tastes good. My husband opened the first bottle and had the first drink.

I am already thinking to serve myJones custom soda this coming Christmas eve for our friends who will be joining us for the Christmas dinner, the flavor would be strawberry lime which I think is my favorite. It would be me and my husband together in the photo wearing Santa Claus hat as a Christmas theme or the photo above would be great. I will name it as "WackyMe Jones" and I am really sure that our friends will be happy looking at it. I can't wait to do it! If you think for yourself and about gift-giving, check out myJones where you can customize your own Jones bottle. It's your photo to upload, your soda and your brand. Cool!

Today is Thanksgiving Day. We all have something to be thankful for in life, it doesn't have to be something material all the time. We should always thank our God above all who gives us so much blessings in life. Happy Thanksgiving Day to y'all!

It's easy for you to change your mind.

Shopping Time!

I finished eating my Thanksgiving dinner two hours ago and now, I am sitting in-front of my computer looking for great deals online. In few hours, Black Friday will start and people will come rushing to the stores and start shopping. Black Friday is traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. I have a few lists on my mind on what to buy these Holidays.

I am going to start gathering online coupons that will help me save money from shopping. Since winter season is just around the corner, I need nice jackets to keep me warm. The weather is unpredictable and we should always be ready no matter what. When I was in North Dakota, I always make sure that I'm wearing an insulated jacket every time we go out.

Shopping is always fun. It's every woman's therapy. No matter what part of the country you live in, or what time of the year it is, everyone needs a jacket or coat that is functional yet stylish. Even in the spring and summer months, a light-weight or soft-shell jacket is sometimes needed indoors when the air conditioning is still cranked up. The reason why, I like investing my hard-earn money to some nice, stylish, comfortable jackets and coats that will last long. So for the coming days, I am going to go shopping because I am going to bring Holiday cheer to all my loved ones.

A Filipino Thanksgiving Celebration

Thanksgiving Day will be tomorrow, November 25th and tomorrow will be my 4th time to celebrate the Thanksgiving Day in the United States. I just want to share an article from RemitHome. Every month, they published an article about Filipinos in the United States.

"Thanksgiving, celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November, is a very popular holiday in the U.S., since it’s a time for families to gather together over a meal to give thanks for their blessings. That’s why the day before Thanksgiving is the busiest travel day of the year.

One of the first Thanksgiving celebrations occurred in 1621, when the Pilgrims invited their newfound Native American friends to share food after the fall harvest and give thanks for their new country. It has evolved into a holiday where families and friends come together, regardless of religious beliefs or country of origin. American family gatherings range from simple meals with immediate family to an entire day of activities with family and friends, with board games, outdoor sports, turkey runs, helping at food banks, and watching Thanksgiving parades and football games on television. And, not surprisingly, the celebration focuses on cooking and sharing good food.

Some Filipino families who have established residence in the U.S. have enthusiastically adopted the foods of their new country, fully embracing the traditional Thanksgiving feast: roast turkey, mashed potatoes and stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Other households may add favorite dishes from home to the Thanksgiving meal. For some, rellenong bangus and mechado are the real stars of the meal; the turkey is either absent or a mere afterthought. Other families supplement the traditional bird with pancit, rice, menudo, and lumpia or serve leche flan instead of pumpkin pie."

How does your family celebrate Thanksgiving? Happy Thanksgiving Day everyone!

The Joy of Baking

Baking is one of the things I want to learn. Yes I can cook and I started cooking at a young age. My mother taught me well in cooking but baking is different. I wanted to make baked goods such as bread, pie, cakes and cookies from scratch. I want to learn that someday I can make really good carrot cake and banana nut bread (they're my favorite). I made some cakes out from the box but I wanted to explore the joy of baking.

The reason why I started to bake today. I am making Chocolate Crinkles. This will be my first ever baked cookies I made and I am proud of myself. I can't wait to bake more! I love baking! If you want to learn how to bake these beautiful and delicious cookies, I got the recipe from Joy of Baking.

Must Love Horses

Did you watch the movie, Dreamer? It is a 2005 American family drama film and an inspired true story of an injured Thoroughbred race horse named SoƱador . A little girl named Cale have fallen in love at first sight before the accident of the horse. She began to sneak out to the barn at night to see her (the horse) while seeing her grandfather to know more about horses. Cale loves to watch horse racing after school and started horse betting on her favorite horse.

It was a beautiful movie for the whole family. I loved it and cried at the end of the movie. It inspire those people, especially the father and daughter/son who lack a much needed bond. Someday, I want to watch a real horse racing betting, not just in the movie. I want to see the whole thing right before my eyes... someday, I will do that.

Let's Go Camping!

Who wants to go camping? When I was in grade school, I was a Girl Scout. I always looked forward for the activities especially camping. I love camping, that even to these days, I enjoy it together with my husband. Once in a while, we make it a point that we go camping somewhere where we will enjoy the beauty of one place. Packing our things has always been my part. Our clothes, toiletries, food and water, medicines, thermal blanket, and not to forget the camping lights. Camping is fun!

The March Group Fraud Protection Alliance- The Best Shield Against a Hostile Environment

This is a sponsored guest post written by The March Group on behalf of The March Group. Post powered by Sponzai.

The possibility for fraud during a business transaction becomes a real threat when either party, buyer or seller, sees an opportunity to manipulate the sales process with the malicious intent to outsmart the other for one’s gain. Schemers and opportunists are continuously coming up with clever ideas about how to prey on unwitting victims. Today the problem with fraud is more complex than ever, as many transactions are conducted online, without the need for meeting face to face. Concerns about the effects of, and protection from fraud has prompted the creation of The March Group Fraud Protection Alliance.

The March Group Fraud Protection Alliance is a multi-faceted program that analyzes various transactions that you make. Its comprehensive approach has even been used by large programs such as the Ebay Customer Protection program. The first part of the program is ensuring that all deals remain confidential. Everybody knows that discretion is essential when you are selling your business or deal making; this ensures that any transaction conducted will be kept 100% confidential until both parties say otherwise.

The second part of the fraud protection program is a thorough background check on those involved in a deal. If the March Group has been hired to defend a business from fraud the owner, at any time, can contact them about a potential customer and they will be able to tell him or her if that customer may be part of a scam. The March Group aims to keep incidents of fraud to a minimum, if not totally eliminate them, and offers reparations to those for whom the program is not successful.

Finally, and perhaps the best feature of the program, The March Group offers extensive classes about online fraud to those who use the program. Learn about the latest forms of fraud affecting businesses and how to best prevent, and address them.

The problem relating to fraud is extensive and requires diligence and vigilance. It would be in your best interest, and that of your company, to secure your business with The March Group Fraud Protection Alliance.

Halloween Costumes

For this year's Halloween (2010), I made sure that my husband will wear a costume. I think he liked the idea of wearing one when he saw me wearing the "Dorothy" costume last year when we were in Hawaii. He enjoyed watching me walking around the Waikiki strip and he's been very supportive taking pictures of me together with the other people wearing their own costumes.

My husband is wearing the Granny Wolf costume and I am Little Red Riding Hood. We made sure that our basket was full of candies so we have something to give when kids will come by and greet us "Happy Halloween" or "Trick or Treat!" We had fun. The kids were all dressed up in their own Halloween costume. We will definitely do it again next year! I wonder what will be our costumes?

Trent Jordan’s Vancouver Offers Live Jazz for Free

This is a sponsored guest post written by Trent Jordan Vancouver on behalf of Trent Jordan Vancouver. Post powered by Sponzai.

The annual Vancouver International Jazz Festival brings the top jazz musicians from all over the world to play in 40 venues all across Vancouver. There are over 400 shows, and many of them have no price for admission. In Trent Jordan’s Vancouver guidelines, he recommends several places where you can enjoy the music for free. There is a place for you whether you want a picnic lunch in the sunshine or an evening clubbing.

Granville Island is full of places where jazz can be enjoyed. Performance Works and Market Stage are the best, but Don Gasford Park, Railspur Alley and the Granville Island Brewery Taproom also offer fantastic shows.

Another place in Trent Jordan’s Vancouver to enjoy the summer jazz festival is Gastown. Gastown is a great place for shops and restaurants, and the two-day New Orleans-style Gastown Jazz offers continuous music for your enjoyment.

For true jazz aficionados, the Roundhouse Mews and the David Lam Park outdoor stage are the place to be. Not only will you enjoy an eclectic collection of the world’s top jazz music, but there are also studio workshops and amazing improvisation.

The Capilano Suspension Bridge is an event in itself, but Trent Jordan’s Vancouver is nothing if not innovative, and the outdoor concert series at the bridge is a double attraction. Jazz on the wild side is not to be missed.

The Vancouver International Jazz Festival is part of the Costal Jazz and Blues Society’s focus to make Vancouver a centre for the exchange of music and ideas that includes local, national and international musicians and music lovers. Dedicated to strengthening the arts community in Vancouver they offer programs all year-round. They also offer educational and outreach initiatives to support and encourage young artists. Trent Jordan’s Vancouver welcomes visitors and residents alike to enjoy the awesome atmosphere of Vancouver’s Summer Festivals.
