My 26th Birthday!

zwani.com myspace graphic comments
Today, September 29 is my birthday. Another year that God has given me. I think my husband is having problems today as he's thinking what we will do for my special day. I told him not to worry about gift-giving as I have reserved that this coming Christmas. I know he's being sweet and it is just lovely to think that somehow, he try his very best to come up with something on my birthday. On my birthday, I wish everybody, my family and friends good health and joy to their life.

I thank God for all the good blessing, the fruitful years he has given me. The loving family, my wonderful husband who loves, cares, supports me all the way and my friends who makes me laugh and share their thoughts with me. Thank you!

Clear Vision with Pinhole Glasses

As one of many bloggers who face the computer everyday and almost 24/7 schedule, it is not easy. My eyes get tired too. You will experience watery-eyes, sleepy eyes and our eyes needs rest too. When my sister was in high school, she's using prescription eyeglasses. Now, she's wearing contact lenses. It is hard when we loose our eyesight, we have to really put care for our eyes because eyes are your most precious sense. We use them everyday to see things and we need them so we can do the things we wanted. In a healthy eye, light rays are focused into a single point on the light sensitive retina at the back of the eyeball. Depending upon the type of refractive disorder endured, less healthy eyes focus light rays in front of or behind the retina, casting a 'blur circle' on the retina itself.

If you suffer from myopia or near-sightedness, hyperopia or long-sightedness, presbyopia, astigmatism, computer vision syndrome or cataracts... you might want to consider pinhole glasses. Pinhole glasses is the modern and affordable alternative to prescription eyeglasses. It consist of precision-manufactured lightweight perforated plastic lenses, inset into standard metal or plastic spectacle frames. They are ideal for sufferers of refractive eye disorders, the elderly and computer users as the pinholes - accurately formed by laser technology - allow only direct and coherent light rays to pass through into the eye.

The eye is the only part of the human body that can function at 100% ability at any moment, day or night, without rest. Your eyelids need rest, the external muscles of your eyes need rest, the lubrication of your eyes requires replenishment, but your eyes themselves "never" need rest. But please rest them! Eyes are your most precious sense... care for them properly! Buy or get your pinhole glasses
now and experience the difference of an equal performance compared to prescription glasses. Customers who have purchased pinhole eyeglasses said that they experience better clarity and resolution of vision when wearing them. Visit Pinhole-Glasses.com for a natural alternative to prescription glasses and experience better vision.

Food Deprivation

I am NOT allowed to EAT

It has been 4 days now since I had my oral surgery for my wisdom tooth on my right jaw. My surgeon said that I am not allowed to eat hot food nor drink hot drinks. I can only eat ice cream and soft food. I felt that I am deprived eating my favorite food plus I am craving for the original recipe fried chicken from KFC. I have to follow instructions because I know it is for my own good. When my husband eat his food, he's making sure that I don't see him eating so that I will not be jealous seeing him eating what he wants.

Food I am allowed to EAT

Two days ago, he bought a fried chicken from Wal-Mart. It is not the usual fried chicken that I am craving for but the thought of wanting the fried chicken in-front of me makes me crave for more. But I just couldn't eat them as it is hard for me to chew because my right jaw is giving me pain everytime I chew on solid foods. I am starving. I am shaking and craving for my favorite food. I wish I am well now.

Trace The Call

The phone service or cellphone service nowadays are very important in our everyday life. Be it personal, pleasure or for business use. When I was looking for a job after stepping out from College, I know for sure that there will be callers from the employers in which I have submitted my application. Phone calls is the only way they can get back to me and tell me whether I pass the interview or I got the job. Without my cellphone before, I couldn't look for a job nor keep me updated to everything I want as I was looking for a job. My cellular phone was my so-called buddy as I know which company was calling me and which company I am going to call back.

Did you ever experience someone called you in the middle of the night? What about a call about 2 or 3 o' clock in the morning? How do you manage these calls? Are you having trouble on how you can trace or guess who is the caller? Well, worry no more! here comes the trace a phone number that you can count on! Don't be a victim of prank callers. With thousands of telemarketers calling, you can avoid these calls by the help PhoneInfoTracer.com to look-up owner's name and address for any unknown phone number. Reverse phone look-ups can be used to trace harassing telemarketers, prank callers or otherwise annoying callers. You can also look-up missed calls from unknown phone numbers or an unknown number that appeared in your phone bill. The service is available for telephone and cell phone numbers in United States and Canada. All the look-ups are 100% confidential. No one will be notified if you search for their phone number. So what are you waiting for, don't be a victim and be wise today!

My Oral Surgery

Last Monday, I had a dental appointment with my new Dentist here in North Dakota. I had my 2 x-rays taken and they gave me my prescription medicine to take for the preparation of the surgery. My wisdom tooth (which is my 32nd tooth) in my right jaw didn't grow well and there's a cavity that needs to be pulled out to avoid infection. My 31st tooth was affected by the cavity too and they have to extract it in the form of root canal and fix it by placing a crown. I will have another schedule for that process.

So, I visited my oral surgeon today and did the surgery. My husband is very supportive of me that he's beside me waiting for my turn. I asked him if he could be with me while my surgeon was working on my wisdom tooth. He said "yes" quickly without any form of thinking. But only if they will allow him. So, the assistant of the surgeon called my name and it is time for my turn. They injected my jaw 3 times to numb it. I was scared and shaking. At the time he was drilling my tooth, I moved my face 2 times as I cannot take the pain I am feeling inside. My tears fell down. My surgeon said to put me into sleep so I will not feel the pain. The numbness they have injected didn't work for me.

After 2 hours, the assistant woke me up and told me they pulled it out and it was successful. I am bleeding inside so I was prescribed a pain medicine for the pain and instructed me not to eat solid foods for 3 days. I can't even spit my own saliva. I can't wash my mouth with a mouthwash. I can brush my teeth but I will be careful brushing it to avoid too much bleeding. I am only allowed to eat ice cream and milkshake and I have to drink plenty of water to prevent my lips and mouth from cracking and chapping. Right now, I need to take my rest as I can still feel the pain in my right jaw.

Dental Appointment

Last week, my husband made a dental appointment for me here in North Dakota. I was having a hard time to bite my food every time I eat and it seems that my wisdom tooth on my right jaw is not in its proper growth. It hurts me so bad that when I eat, I felt like half of my teeth are breaking or worst lose it when I chew. I am actually scared. It scares me to the fact that I don't want to have a false teeth but with the technology today, I deleted all the fears what's on my mind. Besides, it is all in a Dentist's hands to work on my teeth.

National Girl Friends Day!

Hey bloggers! I got this from my inbox send by a friend of mine from Florida. I am only as strong as the coffee I drink, the hairspray I use and the friends I have. To the cool women who have touched my life. Here's to you!

It is good to be a woman:

1. We got off the Titanic first.
2. We can scare male bosses with the mysterious gynecological disorder excuses.
3. Taxis stop for us.
4. We don't look like a frog in a blender when dancing.
5. No fashion faux pas we make, could ever rival the Speedo.
6. We don't have to pass gas to amuse ourselves.
7. If we forget to shave, no one has to know.
8. We can congratulate our teammate without ever touching her rear end.
9. We never have to reach down every so often to make sure our privates are still there.
10. We have the ability to dress ourselves.
11. We can talk to the opposite sex without having to picture them naked.
12. If we marry someone 20 years younger, we are aware that we will look like an idiot.
13. We will never regret piercing our ears.
14. There are times when chocolate really can solve all your problems.
1 5. We can make comments about how silly men are in their presence because they aren't listening anyway.

So, enjoy being one beautiful and fabulous woman on earth!

Somehow, I miss KFC!

Yes, it is true! I miss eating the original recipe fried chicken from KFC. I am not paid to endorse their product but I just miss eating their delicious chicken. Unfortunately, we don't have a KFC restaurant in town. And I know that's really bad for someone like me who craves for the original recipe fried chicken. As you all know, we live in a small town here in North Dakota and there are few fast food restaurant here but I guess nobody beats KFC when it comes to their fried chicken, right?

Autumn in North Dakota

The picture above was taken just few hours ago. The white ash tree are turning its leaves from green to yellow little by little. It has been a year ago when I saw the leaves from the trees changing its colors. The leaves on the maple trees and walnut trees are changing their colors from all green to red, yellow, orange and brown. Its so wonderful to look at them waving by the wind blows, let them fly where the wind takes them as they reach the ground. It it just so amazing how everything changes.

As I checked the calendar, the autumn begins on September 22. But why some of the trees are changing already? I know it is too early to panic but sometimes, that is just the amazing beauty of nature. Eventually, little by little everything will follow for the changes. Everyone will feel the changes of the weather as we cannot actually predict the life of every season. One thing is for sure, just be ready for the fall and winter fashion!

15th of the Month

Yoohoo! I am almost there... We! Almost there for a good vacation after months of working here in North Dakota. We will definitely enjoy being together as we always do since I came here. My husband and I are also looking for happy moments of being together in a trip - again! You see, I was so tied up with my work 15 hours a day and that's everyday. I couldn't imagine myself what are going to do during the winter time as we paint the town red again with all our happenings and road trips. I just can't wait anymore!

I guess I am just excited and feeling anxious for everything. Imagine, I have a seasonal job that allows me 6 months to work and 6 months vacation in a year. How cool is that? I can't wait also to finally get my salary for today because it's 15th of the month and will be lucky again to get my $500 bonus at the end of the month. I wish to meet my friends in Minnesota, Jacy and Malou before going back to Kentucky to spend our winter time. Hopefully too, I wish I will some of my friends down the road in Indiana and Kentucky. I would be much glad about it to finally meet you girls!

What To Do and Not To Do

Doesn't it seem like cravings and emotionally driven eating are damped up when you're on a diet? The good news is that there are many tried-and-true methods to help keep you on track. I'm about to let you in on a few.

Do fill up on fiber

Protein is digested more slowly than carbohydrates and fat, so it takes fewer calories to fill you up. Fiber slows mealtime digestion and absorbs water, which expands your stomach and creates a feeling of fullness. Lentils and starchy beans (for example, navy, kidney, black, pinto, and garbanzo beans) naturally combine protein and fiber in very impressive amounts, so consider eating them in soups and salads or as a side dish instead of rice or pasta.

Don't miss out on sleep

Recent studies show that sleep deprivation can make it difficult to fit into your favorite jeans. When you don't get enough shut-eye, your body produces more ghrelin, a hormone that makes you hungry, and less leptin, a hormone that increases satiety. Discipline might enable you to resist, but why not give your body a well-deserved rest?

Do downsize

Scientists at Cornell University and the University of Illinois researched the effect of serving-bowl size on eating behavior and then published their findings in no less an esteemed publication than the Journal of the American Medical Association. Researchers found that students serving themselves from a large bowl took 53 percent more and ate 56 percent more food (the equivalent of 142 calories) than those who served themselves from smaller serving bowls. If 142 calories doesn't seem like much, try multiplying it by three meals a day for 365 days. If the resulting yearly weight gain of 44 pounds doesn't inspire you to consider a new china pattern, I don't know what will!

Do veg out

Non-starchy vegetables (anything but peas, corn, acorn/butternut squash, and potatoes) are "filler foods" in the best sense of the term. Low in calories and packed with water and fiber, vegetables fill you up without filling you out. Enjoy them in the form of stir-fries and soups, and munch on baby carrots, celery sticks, green beans, or cauliflower between meals.

Don't eat standing up

Back when people ate most of their meals while seated at their kitchen or dining-room tables, rates of obesity were far lower. Coincidence? I think not. When eating is limited to a particular place, your brain doesn't associate other places with food, and the cascade of bodily signals that stimulate appetite is activated less frequently. So, no more chowing down while leaning over your kitchen sink or strolling down the street, OK?

Do limit your choices

Contrary to popular belief, variety is not all that it's cracked up to be—at least when it comes to snacks. When you have more to choose from, you tend to sample a little of this and a little of that, which can lead to a lot of extra pounds. Besides, research shows that we are generally happier eating our favorite foods repeatedly than experimenting with a wide variety.

Don't eat in the dark

Dining by candlelight may be romantic, but the end result can be anything but. Eating in a dimly lit room tends to make people consume more calories. Simply put, in the light you're more self-conscious of others watching what you eat. Also, in low lighting, you can't see your food as well, which may cause you to lose track of how much you're eating. So, if possible, mix the dimmer.

Playful Wacko

It has been 3 months and 2 weeks now since we have Wacko, my chocolate Labrador. He was still a quiet puppy back then when we first got him. He's scared and wants to be left alone all the time as the two little dachshunds monster always wants the attention from us. So he rather wants to stay in the corner and sleep.

Now, that he's 5 months old, he gets bigger and stronger. He's being playful and wants to play all the time. He loves to eat. He loves to play with my husband as we are trying to teach him some tricks too. Someday, we could even teach him on duck hunting and we will have a great feast!

My Baby Sister's Birthday!

zwani.com myspace graphic comments

Yesterday, September 5, 2008 was my baby sister's 15th birthday. I couldn't believe that she grows so fast like that in 15 years. I mean, I was the one who took care of her since she was a baby and now she's a young, adorable, sweet teenage little girl who enjoys her life. Again, I am not with her to celebrate her special day but all my prayers are with her.

I miss her so much that now I am working and earning, I wanted to make her happy someday. She loves shopping so I might grab her and drag her to buy all what she wants the time we will visit Philippines someday. So, just hang in there my baby sister. This blog is for you and I wish you all the happiness in life on your birthday. Take care always and happy, happy birthday!

21 Things Girls Don't Realize

1) Guys may be flirting around all day, but before they go to sleep, they always think about the girl they truly care about...

2) Guys are more emotional than you think, if they loved you at one point, it'll take them a lot longer then you think to let you go, and it hurts every second that they try.

3) Guys go crazy over a girl's smile!

4) A guy who likes you wants to be the only guy you talk to.

5) Giving a guy a hanging message like "You know what? uh... never mind..." would make him jump to a conclusion that is far from what you are thinking. And he'll assume he did something wrong and he'll obsess about it trying to figure it out.

6) If a guy tells you about his problems, he just needs someone to listen to him. You don't need to give advice.

7) A usual act that proves that the guy likes you is when he teases you.

8) Guys love you more than you love them!!!

9) Guys use words like hot or cute to describe girls. They rarely use beautiful or gorgeous. If a guy uses that, he loves you or likes you a whole heck of a lot.

10) If the guy does something stupid in front of the girl, he will think about it for the next couple days or until the next time he spends time with the girl.

11) If a guy looks unusually calm and laid back, he's probably faking it and he is really thinking about something.

12) When a guy says he is going crazy about the girl, he really is! Guys rarely say that...

13) When a guy asks you to leave him alone, he's just actually saying, "Please come and listen to me."

14) If a guy starts to talk seriously, listen to him. It doesn't happen that often, so when it does, you know something's up.

15) When a guy looks at you for longer than a second, he's definitely thinking
something.

16) Guys really think that girls are strange and have unpredictable decisions and are MAD confusing but somehow are drawn even more to them.

17) A guy would give the world to be able to read a girl's mind for a day.

18) No guy can handle all his problems on his own. He's just too stubborn to admit it.

19) Not all guys are rude!!! Just because ONE is RUDE doesn't mean he represents ALL of them.

20) When a guy sacrifices his sleep and health just to talk to you, he really likes you and wants to be with you as much as possible.

21) Even if you dump a guy months ago and he loved you he probably still does and if he had one wish it would be you to come back into his life

Everything said in this blog is TRUE!

Balance Transferred!

At last! After 1 month of waiting to collect all my earnings from blogging, I finally transferred what I have earned from June 18 to July 31 to my bank account. It has been a great way and a lot of patience to wait for something that you know you have worked hard for it and in return, you will get all the fruits of your labor. I have enjoyed blogging, sharing my thoughts was like fun and blogging became my comfort zone for everything. Whenever I am happy, lonely, excited and curious I write everything here. All the words I type or write will be buried in this modern and personal journal. This became my best friend and confidant because I know I can always tell and share anything.

I have waited 1 month to get paid and now, I am transferring all my earnings and have leave few cents from my paypal account. I was extra careful to do it just to avoid some confusions and theft. I made sure that it will come directly to my bank account and wait for few days until I can finally enjoy what I have earned. I had fun and I encourage everyone to join the blogging world.

Too Much To Bear!

Why are some people are difficult to handle? Difficult to understand and hard to please? I have so much pain in my heart now. I think I am too young to handle things like this. I need the support of my husband and I just need him at my side right now. I am missing home. I am missing the laughter and giggles of my 2 sisters and the love and care of my mother. I guess this is the time that I am feeling homesick and missing their faces, their warm touch and hear their voices. Yes, I have been away from them since I graduated from College but I was just living and working in Makati, Philippines which is just 1 hour and 45 minutes by plane away from home.

I got stuck from my new job lately and have no time to give them a call. At least my sister - Haide and I still have the time to chat once in a while if she's off from work. If I will call home they might be out and on their way to school already. I just couldn't find the time to call them and doesn't even know what time they are all home. So that whenever I call, I can hear their voice one by one and screaming at the top of their lungs just because they heard my voice too and they miss me so much. I felt it, and it's right here in my heart. I know I am missing home so bad... I just wanted to be with them for now in just a quick snap of my fingers, having a good dinner, shopping together, sharing stories and laughing together while we are all seated in our cozy living room.

Great American Seafood Recipe

Growing up in a tropical climate was fun. It was a lot of great pleasures that I have experienced. I lived with my parents near a beach resort. It is a walking distance from our house. There's a nice seafood restaurant inside the beach resort. It was a lovely place to eat, to relax and enjoy the scenery while eating my favorite seafood. Seaweed salad for appetizers, succulent king crabs and big shrimps with delicious sauce. It was all yummy! As I have wrote in my previous blog, I made a very simple seafood recipe as a theme for our New Year's eve celebration. It was a shrimp with broccoli and pineapple. Toss it with full of love and sweetness.

The great American seafood cook off is celebrating 5 years of showcasing domestic and sustainable seafood recipes. There were 5 chefs that were given several challenges in creating their dish for the final round of competition. First, the dishes had to contain one of two mystery ingredients, either Southwest Airline Peanuts or select brews from Michelob Brewing Co. Next, keeping it healthy and simple, the dish’s ingredients had to represent all five food groups and be a dish that even the most harried home chefs could prepare.

I have chosen the recipe - Pan Roasted Glazed Rockfish with Peas and Carrots of Chef Tafari Campbell from Maryland. I think it is the best of all because it is simple and healthy. The fish is roasted and he added some vegetables in it, the peas and carrots that made the dish looks good. It is also easy to prepare and it is great dish for a family who's looking for something new but delicious. If I were to create this kind of dish, I would follow the steps in creating the dish and will add colorful bell peppers to add a little bit of spice to get a knock-out taste then I am ready for the cook off challenge. There are lots of benefits you can get from eating seafood such as protein, that builds your muscles strong and healthy and iodine that help prevents goiter and helps your immune system. To all bloggers, visit www.GreatAmericanSeafoodCookOff.com and cast your vote for your favorite recipe with the chance to win a trip to New Orleans prize package. Who knows, you might won and enjoy the trip to New Orleans!
