Snowy Sunday

Last night, it snowed. There was enough snowfalls to cover the ground. When I woke up this morning at 9:15 AM, I was still feeling sleepy and tired. I was thinking to just go back to bed and sleep more. But it didn't happen. Instead, I gave my husband a good morning kiss to let him know that I am already awake. I went to the bathroom and took a shower. I only have 30 minutes to prepare myself to see and visit my Father's house.

My car and the husband's truck was covered with snow. It looked like, we got a lot of snow last night. From the window, it looked like we had 10 inches of snow. I am feeling cold and freezing. Steam coming out from my mouth. It looked like I am smoking pipe. The snow were scraped from the road by the road graders so cars and trucks can run smooth. Pretty much, we had a freezing and snowy Sunday. We stayed home after the church and watched movies.

Happy Thanksgiving!

zwani.com myspace graphic comments

For this time a year, I am celebrating my 2nd Thanksgiving Day with my husband here in the United States. Supposedly, celebrating our 3rd Thanksgiving Day (1st Thanksgiving Day was in the Philippines - 2006). Today, we are not going to celebrate Thanksgiving with his family side, instead we will just celebrate it together in the restaurant. We already made our reservations for tonight and I am pretty sure this will be a romantic Thanksgiving celebration.

We thank God for all the blessings and for the good health. We thank God for our wonderful relationship, with the love we always share with each other and for all the sweet moments we always have everyday. For all my friends, I wish you a wonderful Thanksgiving Day! Enjoy the turkey!

Making a Difference for Our Heroes

They have fought and saved lives. They have been away from their families for a long time. They have missed celebrating special occasions - loved ones birthdays, wedding anniversary, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and even New Year's celebration with their own families. While I was growing up, I experienced that my father who's a soldier by profession wasn't there to be with us. He also missed celebrating special occasions with his family because he had to stay and do his job. That's one big sacrifice you can't take away from him.

Our heroes, the United States Military have to be prepared to sacrifice everything to ensure the freedom of all American people. It's really hard for some families who will celebrate holiday season with incomplete family members. Just like my old friend who's wishing that her husband would come home and celebrate the holidays with her and their little daughter. This holiday season, Sears organized its Heroes at Home program to render support and fulfill wishes to military service members, veterans and their families for all the sacrifices they make. It is called Sears Heroes at Home Wish Registry . It's one way of saying thank you for all our heroes. By making a difference, you can donate any amount to help our heroes' families and Sears will distribute the donations in the form of making necessary repairs, improvement and rebuilding the homes of military families facing hardship and those who are in need this holiday season. Help them realize that wishes do come true. Donate now and give our heroes and their families the help they really deserve. Your donations to the Wish Registry are not tax deductible. Sears will distribute the donations equally to all registered military families in the form of gift cards. Let's pray for their good health and that they are safe coming home to the ones they love so dearly.

What Part of Thanksgiving Are You?

You Are The Stuffing

You're complicated and complex, yet all your pieces fit together.

People miss you if you're gone - but they're not sure why.

Pre-Thanksgiving Day Sale at Sears!

So, what am I doing before Turkey Day? This question makes me think of so many things. Since we came home from Kentucky, my consciousness had stopped for a little bit. It seems that I have to keep all my energy as I will be helping my husband to unload all the things and start unpacking. Our new place is calling for some cleaning and fixing. My mind is nowhere to be found and I need to get back to myself to keep things organize. I need to do something productive before the Turkey Day!

It feels like all the great deals you can find will be after Thanksgiving Day. With prices which are drastically reduced and great deals are everywhere. What about great deals before Thanksgiving Day? It takes some magnificent deals to push some people out of their bed and be out into blistering cold parking lots to camp and wait for hours. It is time to uplift the spirits of the people! And it's time for the Sears Pre-Thanksgiving Sale!

It would be nice to have something new in the kitchen in our new place. Since all Kenmore cookware, bake ware and kitchen appliances, grills are on sale! Of course, I would love to have all of them but since we can't afford everything, I rather get something that will help me a lot - a dishwasher! A perfect gift for me! Since organizing the house will be all me, I can run into my dishwasher to clean all the dishes while I am taking care of the other chores. Great deals and great savings!

I Need a Break!

After we got home 5 days ago, I felt like I am restless here. I know I should be happy because we are home before the blizzard gets on our way. We got home fine and safe. I was able to meet some Filipina friends I met in church. My husband and I experienced the first Filipina gathering last Saturday and it went well. The lakes are starting to get frozen. Pheasant hunters are on the move to hunt. They are everywhere. There were so many pheasants along the highway when we were going to South Dakota. My husband's truck almost hit one male pheasants while it was flying across the road. If it did, we had a great feast!

After the gathering, we went home and stayed home since then. It was very cold outside. I stayed in bed the whole day for 3 days while watching TV and at the same time doing my thing over the internet. I eat and drink in our bed. The only time I would get up is when the time nature calls for it. I am all lazy! Everything is not set-up yet. I should have at least some energy to start unpacking our things. My husband invited me to go to the mall to buy something but I said I don't want to go out. I should be glad when he's inviting me to go to the mall because he knows I love going to the mall and it is very rare that my husband said that because he hates being in the mall because of the crowd. Maybe after Thanksgiving I am all well and will have the energy and ready for the Black Friday shopping!

Be Thankful for the Blessings

Since Thanksgiving Day is fast approaching, I posted this thank you prayer for all the blessings that God has given me all through the years. I grabbed this tag from Jerlalou's blog. Thank you for posting this girl. It will remind me to be thankful everyday.

Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire,
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge
Because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes
They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you're tired and weary
Because it means you've made a difference.
GRATITUDE can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and,
they can become your blessings.

Now, I am tagging all my friends here. You are all free to grab this tag. Happy Blogging!

Some Helpful Thoughts

Some helpful thoughts when a friendship gone wrong:

Offer encouragement and praise when something goes right for your friend, but whatever you do, don't hide your happiness for what is going right in your life. A true friend supports at all times and should be happy for your accomplishments.

Realize that jealousy can be the root of many evil behaviors/painful thoughts and even ruin a person. Everyone can feel jealous once in awhile but if it is always present and bothering you should seek help immediately. If you feel like you are doing strange, out of character things: spying, checking the person's web page 24/7, asking around the person's whereabouts, trying hard to compete with someone, then you might be in the state of "JEALOUSY". It can be agony and you need to talk to someone about your problem.

You might be a fun, beautiful person that people are jealous of. Too bad. Let them. You won't serve yourself any better by catering to their hate.

When someone is envious of you, it means that you have something they want. If you want to help them and they seem nice and worth the effort, offer to tell them where you got that shirt or those shoes. Tell them how you stay positive.

Empowering them is a good way to diffuse their jealousy, but only do this for those people you feel are worthy of your time and energy. Ignore the others

Their jealousy is a mask for insecurity. Once you recognize there's nothing behind the veneer, you'll be fine. You have the right as a person to be in a stable HEALTHY friendship. Choose to do so.

Jealous people will try to bring you down to their level. Don't let them. You don't have to be in a abusive friendship with anyone!

If your friend is always jealous for no reason, accusing you of false activities, than you may be in trouble. Extreme jealousy can lead to very dangerous behavior. If you are not sure if your friend is mentally stable-be very careful. Stay safe and protect yourself. Don't make fun of them just reassure them that you care about them. Consider getting out of the friendship slowly and over

You have the right to end any conversation with a person who puts you down or is nasty in anyway.

Free Trip to New Zealand

Traveling is one thing I have always wanted. It has been a dream since I was a little kid. When I travel, I always make sure that I have a list of the things I bring with me. From the number of clothes and underwear I will wear during the trip, shoes and flip flops, complete toiletries, and some personal things. My sister and I helped each other to gather all the photos we have taken during our trip, including the plane tickets, labeled table napkins, brochures and some souvenirs. We tried making a wonderful scrap book when we had our first out-of-the-country trip in Hong Kong, China.

My husband has always dream of going to New Zealand. He wanted to explore the beautiful mountains, see the endemic flightless bird - kiwi, marine resources and the history and culture of the country. The good news is, Air New Zealand and Larry the Travel Guy will present a free trip to New Zealand for two. This is the chance to grant my husband's dream. It would be more exciting as we get to know more of Larry the Travel Guy and at the same time get to see the beautiful island country of New Zealand. We want to visit the Auckland as it is the center of economic and business district. For sure, after visiting the wonders in New Zealand, a great scrap book with a creative blog will follow.

Pampered Toes

Since it's Winter time, I gathered all my long socks that will keep my toes warm during the entire winter season. My toes are the first one that easily gets cold. I made sure that my socks are ready especially when it snows. Last year was my first winter and first experience of real snow. What I do is put and rub petroleum jelly all over my feet to make it soft and also to keep me warm during the season.

Last week, I found this cute toe socks in Wal-Mart and I bought 2 pairs. I put it on and needed some assistance from the husband since I have a big toes. Luckily the toe socks fit me right and my toes feel warm and comfortable.

Eyes of the Beholder

For some reasons this past few weeks, I just can't go out without my lip gloss and eyeliner in me. I always put make-up on if I am not lazy or not running out of time. I manage to do a little bit of experimental on my face whenever I can and it will always turn out alright. I am not a professional make-up artist. I just try to be myself and look good on make-ups I had.

Just recently, after we were invited to a birthday party of 3 lovely women, the husband told me that I looked like his buddy "the bandit" from the woods. I didn't understand him at first on what he's talking about until he's laughing so hard and telling me to face the mirror in the bathroom. Oh my Zeus! I looked like a sad raccoon! The eyeliner make-up were scattered all around my eyes! I laughed at myself too. I didn't know I made a mess around my eyes when I had to scratch the itchy corner and turned out to be a bandit like the raccoon. Next time, I will use a mirror whenever I have to ease the itch around my eyes and will never do it at dark.

The Fuel Price!

This past few days, I was surprised when I saw the gas prices going down cents after cents everyday. In my older post last May 2008 Pennies and Dimes, the gas prices were soaring up high like crazy. My husband and I loves to go on a road trip whenever we can. When the gas prices went up, we slowed down on our usual road trips. We ended up staying at home and save money instead. It's one way of keeping our budget on track and never be broke when the time comes for the emergency.

I wish that it will stay the same so that more people will enjoy traveling, more people can afford to go to their workplace and they will never complain about how fast the gas prices can go up instantly. In a year of living here, I have heard so many people complain when they pump the gas. I know their sentiments as I can feel it too. I just wish that the government will do something about it, work on it so that our nation will never be in a big mess or trouble. Everyone wants to live happy and worry-free environment.

I Will Be Back

On Hiatus! I will be out for 2 days as we will be moving back to North Dakota this time... for good. Although the house here in Kentucky didn't sell yet because of the ailing economy. We are leaving our house empty and the Realtor which is our neighbor and a good friend of ours will be the one watching from time to time. Pretty much, we are almost done packing, loading the things and cleaning the house.

I won't be here checking and reading your blogs but rest assured that after everything is organized in our place, I will be starting to blog hopping and visiting your blog site. See you soon!

iLasik - The New Generation

I was asked one day, what part of my body I am not willing to give up? The question put me in a deep thinking. It was like, I was in a hot seat thinking deeply for the best answer I could give. My answer was my eyes. Yes, I am scared to loose my eyesight. Who doesn't? I guess, everyone is scared to loose their eyesight. My mother always tells me not to be too close when watching TV as the radiation will affect my eyes. She even told me to open the lights when I will read something and don't wash my eyes after reading or just as after I faced the computer. It was a careful and concern advice from my mother telling me how to take care of my precious eyes.

When my sister had an eye checked-up, she was wearing prescription eyeglasses to help her see things and read words. I looked at her in a different manner asking myself why she's wearing eyeglasses at a young age. Did she forgot to follow our mother's advice on taking care of our eyes? Right now, she's wearing her contact lenses. It's amazing how technology changes so quick from prescription eyeglasses, the contact lenses and now the new generation, the outstanding technology for a better vision - LASIK technology. The NASA and the U.S. military increases their performance using a laser vision correction technologies that have benefited by civilians. The iLasik procedure only takes minutes. It reshapes the cornea to correct the refractive imperfections in the eye that causes nearsighted or farsighted. Find out more about LASIK information and get the chance to have a perfect 20/20 vision. It will not cost you a fortune and you will get a better vision without eyeglasses or contact lenses.

Just Got Lucky

Wow! Am I the lucky person tonight? Or simply my patience paid off? For several months now that I have been blogging and catching some opportunities, this is the only day/night that I was glued in-front of my computer doing my task. I have been checking my PayPerPost and SocialSpark wishing I could catch some opportunities to blog about or better yet click on "wait a slot" then wait for my reserved opportunity then do my task.

For tonight, I got 4 opportunities which will add to my earnings (thinking ahead for the approval). This means to say, my earnings from blogging are growing and that it will be ready to be saved in the bank. I hope for more task and approval will come my way. Thank you dear Lord! Thank you also to PayPerPost and SocialSpark. Life has been great!

The Hiltons of Branson

After a month of living in the United States, my husband-to-be then showed me too many places to explore them. So far, I have been to 29 states in my 1 year, 4 months and 14 days here. It was awesome! We went on a road trip a few days after he purchased the new car for me. I came to explore some states and got to know more about their history. I felt like I was the greatest explorer, it was an adventure with so much fun and learning about the history, culture and traditions. It took us almost 3 weeks on our summer road trip. We visited and stayed to some nice hotels whenever my husband-to-be then gets tired driving and decided to retire for the night. The fascinating hotel we have been to was the Hilton Garden Inn in Colorado last March as we went on a spring road trip. The hotel was situated in the fabulous Colorado Springs where you can see the Rocky Mountains backed up with the blue sky and snow caps.

Hiltonsocial-ad-300x400

Be fabulous this holiday season! Celebrating holiday season is one of my favorites as I get to enjoy shopping for new clothes, shoes and purses. I also enjoy good food and exploring other places when we have enough greens to support our holiday trip. Do you have any plans for the holidays? How about bringing all your family for a wonderful getaway in Missouri? Experience a great stay at the Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing. The Branson Convention Center and Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel are elements of Branson Landing, a $420 million public and private project spanning 1.5 miles of Lake Taneycomo adjacent to historic downtown Branson. As the excitement goes on for the holidays in the Midwest's entertainment capital, you can choose from the 4 exclusive holiday packages - The Thanksgiving Package, It's a Wonderful Life Package, Santa's Coming to Town Package or the New Year's Eve Package.

Treat yourself and the whole family for some good food dinners, spa treatments or simply check Santa and Mrs. Claus. Watch the light displays, shows, parades and the old time charms at Branson. What's the most exciting part in Branson, Missouri are the newly opened retail shops and restaurants, department store, condominiums, a boardwalk, marinas, entertainment and wide parking. I can still remember the first time I visited St. Louis, Missouri where the Gateway Arch is located. We went to look the structure of the Arch and felt like I was a dwarf while standing in front of it. We visited the museum underground and enjoyed the sight-seeing for a while. It was a great story to tell to my friends back home. I am pretty sure that it's worth it for every single penny you will spend because you will never get bored, you will enjoy the scenery and you will be satisfied!

Give a Gift, Grant a Wish!

Every Christmas season, I have been looking forward to so many things. We helped each other to decorate the house with Christmas decors, wrapping gifts for family and friends, making the menu plan that we will serve on the table for Christmas dinner and creating my wish list. Of course, who does not have a wish list for Christmas? Everyone does! I know that the holiday season is just right around the corner and it is time to put smiles on their faces to everyone we surely love. Making our love ones happy is one great thing we can do even if it is a small thing.

This holiday season, it is time to give a gift and grant a wish for our loved ones. Make it happen with Sears Layaway! They have a program that you can shop and pay later. For this coming Christmas, the three items I would choose to purchase for my family and friends for the upcoming holidays are:
  • Garage and Tool Storage from Craftsman for my husband. His tools were everywhere in our garage. It was a mess! When the time he needed to use them, they are nowhere to be found. Therefore, it is about time to be organized!
  • Proform CrossWalk 415 Treadmill for my two sisters. They simply want to be fit and healthy. There is no need to go to the gym to hit the treadmill and pay for the fee.
  • Sienna Comforter Set Collection for my mother. With this gift, she can sleep comfortable especially when it is cold at night.
With layaway, I can get the gifts I want to give and I am able to pay off the items over a short period. This is going to be a bigger savings for me since I will not be paying for the full price one at a time. Gift giving makes everyone happy and granting his or her wishes makes the whole world happy.

Crazy in Bed

I couldn't sleep last night. I was feeling sick and couldn't find my perfect sleeping position. I have my period, it was my first day and night. I have been tossing and turning in our king size bed last night. My husband said, I always take over 3/4 of the bed even if it's a king size bed and nothing is left for him. I just laughed at him whenever he tells me something like that. It amuses me how I took over all the spaces in our bed with all my pillows with me.

I have been counting sheep last night. I don't know how I fell asleep last night but I am sure that it took me so many hours before the back pain eased and felt comfortable in the middle of the night until I woke up this morning. I still feel the back pain, cramps and it hurts me a lot. I still need to pack some of our things that I have missed and place them all in a box. We are ready to leave!

Power Up With Turbocharge!

When I came here in the United States, I was a neophyte about how to shop for cars. I don't even know what to consider on buying cars to suit my own dream car. My husband taught me everything about cars - the engine, the looks, mileage, brand, model and year I am considering, horsepower, and the price. He taught me everything about it including dealing with the salesperson and hopping from one car dealership to one another. Then, I got my dream car!

I have had my car for over a year now. And it just doesn't have enough power for me, so I have been looking at some faster cars like vw turbocharger. I like to go really fast and I think it is cute when I will be driving it. With turbocharger, it gives the engine more power. A turbocharger is an air compressor used for forced-induction of an internal combustion engine. It is to increase the mass of air entering the engine to create more power. If you are looking for a perfect ride and wants your car faster than ever, visit the website - www.turbochargerpros.com. Get the power and improvement that you want for your ride.

Simplified Fried Chicken

Last night, my husband requested a fried chicken for our dinner. He said he missed my cooking. I haven't been cooking much since we got here and it was him who do the cooking everyday. Sometimes, we go out and just grab a meal or sometimes, we got invited by the Filipino friends here in Bowling Green, KY. I don't have the eagerness or the passion in cooking as there's not much kitchen utensils in our kitchen and some spices that I really needed when I am cooking.

Ingredients:
  • Chicken Breast (cut in half)
  • Lemon
  • Olive Oil and Vegetable Oil (for frying)
  • Chili Powder (about 1/2 tablespoon)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Procedure: I simply boiled the chicken first to make sure there's no salmonella or any bacterias hanging out in my breast chicken. Before frying, I rubbed it with lemon, olive oil and chili powder for extra taste. Fry the chicken until golden brown and served it with sweet boiled carrots and sugar snap peas. Bon Appetite!

Ice Cream in Rainy Days

My Mint Ice Cream

It has been raining for 4 days now and I have been feeling cold and chilling with the cold-rainy weather. Despite of the rainy weather, the husband and I grabbed something from Cold Stone Creamery to get some ice cream. We got to taste different ice cream flavors like raspberry sorbet, french vanilla, banana, chocolate and dark chocolate, cotton candy and mint. Winn got the french vanilla mixed with blueberries and I got a mint ice cream mixed with Oreo and chocolate chips. We ate it while driving going home.

Window Shopping

After spending half day at home - watching the news and some movies, doing my task, packing some things, and surfing the internet for a while, the husband decided to go to Lowe's to return the broken hand-truck. We got the refund and we did a little bit of window shopping. My favorite isle was the kitchen and bath features. While doing my rounds, browsing the brochure and touching the materials, I thought to myself that someday, I wanted to have something like the one I saw in the brochure.

It is always funny how I drag my husband just to let him see what was my dream kitchen or my dream bathrooms would look like. I always tell him that I want the "his and her sink" in our bathroom. He would just smile at me like I was a little kid wanting a very beautiful Barbie doll in the store. My mind always runs for wonderful imaginations as we are building our nice and wonderful home in our minds. I just wish that our house here in Kentucky will sell very soon. We hope that there will be answers for the ailing economy. Right now, all we have to do is be patient in waiting because I know that God will do the rest.

Lombok - Eastern Inspired Living

It has been over a year now since me and my husband went furniture shopping for our house that we can call it a home. I never realized that it took me hours to decide which style and design, kind of wood to consider and the color that I really want. It was my first furniture shopping with my husband. Building and decorating houses is really a pain in the head. Sometimes, just by decorating our own house is stressful as we wanted things to be organized. Of course, all what we want are the best and everything is physically arranged to its own place.

We have moved twice already, looking for the not-so-perfect house and place where we can build our lives together. Of course, decorating the new house is really a big deal for me. I have been spending some of my time browsing home magazines where I can get ideas on how I can turn the bare from a lovely house. From the furniture, home accessories, color and lighting of the house, I want our new place to get the look of beauty and versatility whatever home-style that is inspired by traditional and contemporary.

LOMBOK is renowned for an Eastern-inspired living. Their passion is to use recycled and natural materials wherever possible, for pieces that are naturally stylish and comfortable with that reassuring live-in feel. You can choose different styles from furniture, lighting and accessories including wooden beds, dining tables with dining chairs, wooden bookcases, chest of drawers, cushions, baskets, candles and a lot more. By visiting their website, you can simply browse by room - Dining, Living, Bedroom and Study room or simply browse by collection with different varieties to choose from that fits your personality. My husband is a coffee lover so I will let him choose between the rustic or contemporary, teak wood or glass coffee tables to look good in our new living room and to complete our furniture shopping. As for me, I wouldn't mind to have a new computer desk to give my laptop a good view while I am doing my blogging. They offer 20% discount on selected items where you can shop something to give this Christmas.

Ain't Much Pumpkin

After cleaning the house today, I gave myself a good and warm bubble bath. I told myself that this is the best time to use the bubble bath I purchased yesterday. I was sweating all over my body and my clothes are dirty from cleaning. So I ran my bath water with some bubble bath and relaxed in the tub for half an hour. But I noticed that the bubble bath I bought wasn't good enough to make bubbles. I was looking for more bubbles so I can soak my body in it but they never came. I poured half bottle of the bubble bath but still it is not enough to create bubbles for me. I even asked for Winn's help to create bubbles for me but his effort of making some bubbles didn't last. It turned out, after 30 minutes, I took the usual bath I have.

"And lovely are the blossoms
That are tended with great care,
By those who work unselfishly
To make the place more fair.
And, like the garden blossoms,
Friendship’s flower grows more sweet
When watched and tended carefully
By those we know and meet.
And, if the seed of friendship
Is planted deep and true
And watched with understanding,
Friendship’s flower will bloom for you. "

Now, I am passing this flower of friendship to:
