TCP #82: Doubt

I am back again at Tuesday Couch Potatoes. It has been a while since I last shared. Today's theme is Movies with Best Actress Awards. So here we go!

Remember the famous characters of Miranda Priestly, Janine Roth and Donna Sheridan? What about Sister Aloysius Beauvier? They were all played by one of my favorite actresses - Meryl Streep. She's the strict principal of Bronx Catholic school and has observed the unusual behavior of a popular priest, Father Flynn.

The film Doubt is a 2008 film adaptation of John Patrick's Shanley. It was set in 1964 at a Catholic church in the Bronx, New York. At first, I thought the movie was boring, dark and dull but as I went on, I fully understand the movie. Sister Aloysius questioned and demands the truth from Father Flynn about the illicit relationship with a troubled altar boy named Donald.

At the end, Sister Aloysius says that "In the pursuit of wrongdoing, one steps away from God." So this reminded me of something greater about my life if ever I will do something wrong, I am putting distance from God.

Tuesday Couch Potatoes - where we blog about our favorite movies each week.
